We stated last week that the French Government had claimed
the Neapolitan exile Galotti, whom the Prefect of Corsica had incon- siderately given up. He was put to death so soon as he arrived on the shores of Naples. The French Government are, or profess to be, indignant.
It was before announced that the Republics of Columbia and Peru were at war. The contest has proved unfortunate for Peru. The Co- lumbian army, after a gallant engagement, on the 26th February, de- feated .the invading forces of Peru. Happily a treaty of peace has been the consequence.
A civil war rages in Buenos Ayres. What is considered the liberal party is uppermost for the present, but the issue is altogether preca- rious.
