Sta.—Happening to take up General Gordon's letters to his sister in a London club, I found on. the second page the following words, which may be of interest to some in your present discussion about Confirmation and Communion : " You know I never was confirmed. I, however, took my first Bserament on Easter Day, and have communed ever since."
General Gordon was certainly not an orthodox Churchman.—.
