Grisel Married. By Mrs. George De Home Vaizey. (Mills and
Boon. 6s.)—This book belongs to what might be called the country-house type of novel—that is, most of the characters are "county" people living in excellently run establishments. Lady Cassandra Raynor, the heroine, is a fine example of this class. But Theresa Mattison, the girl to whom the hero becomes engaged, belongs to more middle-class circles. The Grizel of the title has been met by Mrs. De Home Vaizey's readers before, and an account of her initiation into married life in rural England with two servants is amusingly given. It may, however, be doubted whether Grizel would have made quite so great a success with so little exertion. The book contains a good deal of entertainment, though it is not a serious work of art.
