Highways and Byways in Shakespeare's Country. By W. H. Hutton.
(Macmillan and Co. 5e. net.)—We heartily envy Mr. Hutton his pleasant teak, and do not wonder that "it is with a sigh that the pen is laid down, the books put away, the feet no longer turned towards Warwick ways." Shakespeare's country is both charming in itself and rich in historical and literary associations. Mr. Hutton has per- ambulated it from end to end, and describes his travels—alike in the present and the past, in facts and in records—with scholarly enthusiasm. Ibis needless to praise the beautiful illustrations of Mr. Edmund New, which are thoroughly in keeping with the spirit of this admirable series.
