The Malabar, 74, arrived in Plymouth Sound yesterdaT, having on
board Mr. Ellis, the British Envoy to Brazil, who left Rio de Janeiro on the 1st April. The news received by the last packet, that the Emperor had appointed a special mission to this country, is confirmed. The Prince de Joinville had reached Rio on the 27th March, and was received by the Emperor with great distinction.
Intelligence had been received at Rio, by the Favourite, 18, from Sydney to the 5th February. There was still a complaint of com- mercial depression.
