Viennese hero

Sir: As the extraordinary woman deter- mined to do a PhD thesis on Jeffrey Bernard I'd like to thank you very much for publishing my appeal to Spectator readers (Letters, 11 August) and then forwarding the letters — from all over the world — to me. I did appreciate this prompt and efficient service, but then it was only to be expected from such a splendid magazine as The Spectator. There are now quite a few Viennese people who have started to read your renowned organ and of course, everyone is fascinated by my hero.
