the net profit being 2268,284 against £261,504. The Directors are again paying a final dividend of 15 per cent. on the De- ferred Ordinary shares, making 20 per cent. for the year, while the carry forward of £141,007 is ahead of the figure for last year. Although during the year under review there was decline in market quotations for shares in Tea, Rubber and other Produce Companies, the. market . value, of these invest- ments in the Company's Balance-Sheet was in excess of the figure at which they: are shown, while the Special -Reserve of £350,000 held against them is intact. Cash and Government Securities also figure for 2304,369 against £221,027 a year ago. The soundness of this undertaking is indicated by the fact that at the present price of just over £6 for the £1 shares, the yield to the investor is only about 81 per cent, It must be remembered, however, that the Company has paid much higher dividends in the course of' its history.
