Letter to my son
Sir: As one of your younger readers fascinated by the fluctuating voices of experience speaking on 'Letter to my son,' may I ask your middle- aged readers a question?
It begins as a statement. Many young British people today possess a most extensive freedom. Their freedom is the combination of youth and health, their Western upbringing, decent education (say to eighteen, to limit the field), and an absence of either personal ties or a devotion to any par- ticular career. Given such freedom, which is limited only by lack of money, what would your middle-aged readers do with it?
