In a few weeks'- time the great Holland tunnel for
vehicular traffic under the Hudson River will be ready for its first tests. According to the Popular Science Monthly of New York the tunnel has cost nearly £10,000,000, and will enable 46,000 motor-cars to enter New York from New Jersey daily. Some day, no doubt, we shall have in London two great motor tunnels running from North to South and from East to West.
