ON Christmas day, their Majesties, with the Princess Augusta and the Duke and Dutchess of Gloucester, attended divine service in an apartment of the Palace at Brighton. Prayers were read by the Bishop of Hereford ; and the sacrament was administered to the King and Queen and the Duke of Gloucester, by the Bishop of Worcester.
The Royal dinner-party comprised those relatives of his Majesty at present at the Palace, the members of the Household, and the Bishop of Worcester.
On Christmas eve, his Majesty had a party of military officers at dinner.
The Marquis and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Mr. and Mrs. Leveson Gower,- the Marquis of Chandos, and Sir James Kempt, have also had the honour of dining with the King. • The- Princess- Augusta has been suffering severely from a cold, but is now nearly-recovered.
The Dutchess of Kent was present at part of the performances at Ile Olympic Theatre on Monday last.
