from New York, contains the following appointments- " General Commission of Inquiry for Crown Lands and Emigration— Chief Commissioner, Mr. Challes Buller ; Assistant Ct ttttt nissioner, Mr. Richard Davies Hanson; Secretary, the Honourable Fleury Petre."
Lord DURHAM has also instructed the Governors of the other British Provinces to abstain, until they receive further instruc- tions, from alienating any waste land, the property of the Crown ; it being his intention to adopt "an improved system" for the disposal of Crown lauds, combined with the encouragement of immigration " upon the most extensive scale that circumstances will permit."
