The Talbot J. Taylor Collection. (G. P. Putnam's Sons. 25s.
net.)—Mr. Talbot J. Taylor's house, situated at Cedar Hurst, in Long Island, shows a fascinating exterior as it is pictured for us in this volume, and the catalogue of its contents gives us an idea of how America is accumulating the treasures of the Old World. The furniture is largely French. Each Louis period, XIII., XIV., XV., and XVI., is amply represented. Of special curiosities, the most important is the Prayer-book of Henriette, Duchess of Orleans (sister of Charles II.) The volume is amply illustrated.
