The General Contract Company, with a capital of one million
sterling, in 40,000 shares of 25/. each, is announced this week. • The directors propose to undertake the construction of railways, canals, waterworks, bridges, harbours, roads, &c., both here and abroad. Arrangements have been made for transferring the business and works of Mr. Roland Brotherhood, of Chippenham, to the com- pany, on advantageous terms. This gentleman will act as general manager of the undertaking. The first issue will consist of 20,000 shares.
