There is no doubt that the submarine M 1 '
was struck and sunk by the Swedish steamship On arriving at Stockholm the master of the Vidar ' heard of the loss of If 1 ' and reported that when off Start Point he felt a severe shock and that the steering of his ship was temporarily disarranged. The damage done to the plates of the ' Vidar ' suggests that the submarine was opened by the blow and that her crew perished instantaneously.
