Fairbrass : a Child's Story. By T. Edgar Pemberton. (Cornish
Brothers, Birmingham.)—This is a good book of its kind, with no little humour as well as serious meaning in it. It can hardly be said that all the incidents in it are probable ; but that matters but little. We read it as a fairy-story, and are quite content. In a world where beasts and trees " confabulate," everything is possible and permissible.
