WITH the termination of the summer holiday season has come the anticipated increase in activity in the stock markets. The dominant feature continues to be the great strength of British Funds and kindred securities, but latterly there has been a decided tendency for business to overflow into other markets and during the last week there has been a particularly strong demand for some of the South American Government Loans, and notably those of Argentina and Brazil. Even Chilean Bonds, however, have rallied some- what from their prolonged fall. There has also been a con- siderable amount of -actsVity in Home Industrial shares.
