AIRMEN'S TARGETS Sta,—One of your correspondents last week deplored the
lowering aof our standards of conduct in this war, basing his remarks on a British airman's account of the destruction his plane carried out in a country district in Germany. About the same time I saw a news- paper account of endeavours in a district in England to raise money to buy bombs to be dropped on Germany at certain specified times, one of which was Christmas. I feel sure that such a procedure in a German town would strike most English people as an outstanding example of anti-Christian spirit. I hope very much that the report was inaccurate, or that a vigorous protest has been made by the local churches. I am not altogether ignorant of the feelings of those who have endured raids, as I lived on Merseyside till April of this year.— Yours, &c., M. Junson. York House, St. john's Road, Farnham.
