SKY-LINE INN. By D. Hamilton Haines. (Eveleigh Nash and Grayson.
7s. 6d.)
' Sky-line Inn,' in the foothills of the High Sierras of Cali- fornia, has been bought in a moment of enthusiasm by Theophile Gelas. Unfortunately it is a dozen miles off the beaten track, and he and his wife have lived there six weeks without entertaining a single guest. Theophile, however, besides being an excellent chef, is a man of resource. By a strategy he obtains guests, and once they are there he is so completely master of the situation that he marries them off and makes his own fortune with ease. He is an amusing person.
