Last night's Gazette contains the official announcement of Lord Ash-

burton's appointment "to proceed on an extraordinary special mission to the United States of America."

[The Courier of this evening says that Lord Ashburton will sail on Monday week.]

The Lord Chancellor has appointed Mr. Thomas Scott, of Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, and Mr. Edwin Dudley, of Dudley in Worcester- shire, Masters Extraordinary in the High Court of Chancery.
