The Labour Party retained the seat for the Gower division

of Glamorganshire in the by-election last week. Mr.. D. Grenfell, the Labour candidate, received 13,296 votes, and Dr. D. Williams, the Coalition Liberal, 9,841. Each party increased its poll, but the Labour majority was 3,455 as compared with 1,756 at the General Election.
