[To THE EDITOR OF THE " SPECTATOR."] Peccavi" has for many long years been associated in my mind with another equally laconic, and my impression has been that both appeared in Punch together on the suppression of the Indian Mutiny, but it now seems that, unless Punch then repeated Miss C. Winkworth's " happy thought," the supposed coincidence is' a mistake on my part. The second is " Vovii!" (I've Oudh).
