Personally, I found Lehman's play a delight, including its long

love scene which was both tender and hilarious. There are insular school- teachers, even today. And as a viewer, I don't care if my dramatist puts his teachers in bomba- zine and lorgnettes, as long as they keep me gripped. The first commandment of the dramatist is, Thou Shalt Not Bore. Mr. Lehman gets a clean bill in my living room.
