Messrs. Hildesheimer and Faulkner (41 Jewin Street) send us specimens
of their very careful and elaborate Christmas and New Year's Cards, Autograph Cards, 4-e. The landscapes and animal cards are very good, except, indeed, when the animals are intended to be comic, and then they seem to us to be, on the whole, spoilt. The sentimental cards with babies and young ladies trying to look like cherubs or angels are not so good. But all the cards are very carefully and often brilliantly executed, some of the smallest cards being particularly pleasing.
