I RECOMMEND the reprint of the trans- lation of the lives of Saints Ninian and Kentigern, which appeared under the title Two Celtic Saints as a 'Facsimile Reprint 1989 by Llanerch Enterprises' at the very competitive price of £4.95. These works were written in the 12th century by im- aginative monks to explain the holiness of long-dead local heroes about whom vir- tually nothing was known. Their efforts to turn lead into gold reveal more about human nature than you might expect.
