DEMOCRACY A ND FREEDOM

Munby in a letter which you published on January 19th states that he is a Communist and appeals for democratic education and academic freedom.

It is a little difficult to see that Communists, Fascists or Nazis (all Totalitarians) have any just claim to freedom and toleration from Democracy, which they are out to destroy, though I have little doubt of their receiving it in this country even in war-time.
