The British Abnanac for 1863. (Knight and Co.)—Published for the
Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, this almanac contains everything which an almanac was ever expected to contain. Bound up with it may be had the "Companion to the Almanac," containing a series of essays on various subjects, such as the " Products and Industry of the British Colonies," the " Distress in Lancashire," "Fires and Fire Brigades ;" an abstract of the important Acts of Parliament of the year, judicial statistics, a chronicle of the session, &c. In short, the two together form a complete social and industrial history of the United Kingdom for the year 1862, and an excellent almanac for 1863. But surely it has reached us somewhat late.
