Vol. X. (Smith, Elder. and Co. 25s. net.)— This volume corresponds to XXVIII.-XXX. of the original edition (the earliest of the portion which appeared under the sole editorship of Mr. Sidney Lee). It takes in the names " Howard " (sixty-one items covering seventy-three pages, of which four are given to John Howard, prison philanthropist) to "Kenneth." Among the items are the Stuart Kings of Scotland, showing an average life of thirty-five years and seven months.— Lady Nairne and her Songs. By the Rev. George Henderson. (Alex. Gardner, Paisley. 2s. net.)-12,007 Words Often Mis- pronounced. By W. H. P. Phyfe. (G. P. Putnam's Sons.
