Three wrongs . . .
Sir: Mr William Oddie is quite wrong to describe me as an enemy of Dr Graham Leonard, and as a regular contributor to the Tablet, and as an enemy of the present Pope ('No sects please, we're British', 19/26 December). As regards the Pope, I am a loyal Catholic. As regards Dr Leonard, I am an admirer and well-wisher. As regards the Tablet, though the editor would wish it otherwise. I write for it less often than once a year.
