NAVAL HONOURS.

[To Telt EDITOR OP THE " SPROTATORM SIR,—The daily papers on Friday week had three columns of Birthday Honours, in which the Army figured in large numbers. The Senior Service, the Royal Navy, had three names, no more. Half-a-column was devoted to the jubilee of the Crimean War, all given to the Army, not a single naval officer's name amongst them. One asks why is the Royal Navy so ignored : have we no naval officers alive who fought in that memorable time ? Numerous ones are left. Yet people wonder that the naval officers grumble that the Senior Service is slighted. Can you wonder at it, when you see such a slight given it as these last Birthday Honours give it?
