Park yester- day, in order that medals might be given to a great many of the Penin- sular veterans; the unenrolled Pensioners also attending for the same purpose. The Duke of Wellington commanded, and distributed the medals. Prince George of Cambridge, the Marquis of Anglesea, Lord Hardinge, and Mr. Sidney Herbert, were present, with an immense con- course of spectators.
Mr. John Fielden, late Member for Oldham, is added to the somewhat long list of notable men who have lately passed from the scene of life. Mr. Fielden died on the 28th of May, " in a spirit of tranquil resignation."
