Complaint
Sir: John McEwen in the review of Morris Louis paintings at our gallery states 'and the stripes, imposed upon him by the critic Clement Greenberg and not his thing at all'.
This statement is untrue and I would like Mr McEwen to substantiate his sloppy remark. One of the main problems of art critics in this country today is not their taste, myopic and visually retarded as it may be, but their general laziness and lack of knowledge. Also they appear to have a greater interest in argument or clever remarks than in art.
