Sir: I know I am not the first person to Point out that part of the Spectator's appeal Ls the clarity brevity and wit that are ,characteristic of most of the magazine's
writing. Accordingly, I was disappointed to see two-thirds of the Letters page (19 May) g!ven over to the self-indulgent, pompous views of Alastair Forbes. Such letters are more appropriate for the 'Great Bores of
