Wrong Weir
Sir: In his review of a book by Zachary Leader (16 February), Peter Levi refers to Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel as The Weir of Hermiston, thereby giving the impression that it is about a river; its correct title is of course Weir of Hermiston and it is about a Scottish judge of that name. Stevenson dried up in mid-novel, poor fellow, not because of 'sudden realisation of the truth about himself but because he died suddenly.
