the University was followed by disturbances ; that the soldiers were called out, and that they have used their weapons, but no details are given. The precise state of the general political condition of Russia will be found in another column. The state of siege in Poland continues, and General Abramovitch has been ap- pointed Military Governor. The churches are still shut, and the troops still encamp in the streets, while the officials are reported to send in incessant applications for sick leave. A package of arms has been confiscated on the frontier, but no ernieute has yet taken place.
