Snt,—Conditions in the army are very well and truly stated
by " Gunner " in The Spectator of-July 16th. They apply equally to the infantry. After a roll-call parade of -fi a.m. interminable days are put in between visits to the canteen and lying in bed. The army is neither fit nor trained, and heaven help the country should it be required for service.—Yours, etc.,
" INFANTRY."
