Engineers' windows
Sir: Engineers are commemorated in West- minster Abbey, in most of the windows along the north side of the nave and north choir aisle ('Engineers' Corner', Books, 23 March). Why didn't the Engineering Council walk in? Or better still, buy a copy of the official guide and look in the index under Stephenson, Parsons, Baker, J. W. Barry, Royce, Brunel, Trevithick? There are even little stained-glass views of bridges. Shouldn't engineers of all people check their facts? My goodness! (But the ballad was lovely.) Priscilla Metcalf
