(Ilunt.)—Of these little books, written, apparently, from very different points of view, the critic gladly contents himself with saying that they are composed with an excellent purpose. His taste inclines him to the first, which is didactic, rather than to the second, which is "experimental." The Rev. Octavius Winslow writes of his mother that she had "a deeply sanctified pen." It is only right to say that we have not found her using any phrase so objectionable.
