Macmillan and Co. 15s.)—Mr. Bell was Director of the Geological Survey of New Zealand for six years, which he spent in almost constant travel through the wilder parts of that wonderful country. In this interesting book he describes some of his most striking experiences in mountaineering and exploration.. New Zealand, as he truly says, presents a variety of physical features unknown in any other land of similar area on the globe; it is a veritable paradise for the climber or explorer who desires new worlds to conquer. Mr. Bell's well-illustrated and pleasantly written book gives a very good idea of its wilder charms.
