Gregorio Guinea, the Spaniard who stabbed Met. La Vega a
few weeks ago, was tried this morning at the Old Bailey.' The Spanish Vice-Consul attended, and acted as interpreter for the prisoner ; who pleaded Guilty. The prosecutor recommended him to mercy ; he wished, if possible, that his life might be spared. Judge Littledale said, a petition might be presented to the King, but the Court could hold out no hopes of mercy.
