pat,—I wonder if the writer of the article "Single-Handed" has ever heard of the Girls' Friendly Society. There lies the solution of the difficulty about the single-handed maids leisure hours. A G.F.S. member need never bo dull The interests provided by the Society are multitudinous, and they are increasing, ride the latest development, craft bases. Tho member enjoys the friendship of her associate and the companionship of her follow-members, and she has the inspiring feeling of belonging to a great Society which can help her, and, still more inspiring thought, which she can help. —I am, Sir, &c.,
