or in the early hours of Tuesday, was carried out by seven airships, and the districts attacked were the South Coast, the East Coast, the North-East Coast, and the North Midlands, the principal attack being aimed at the industrial centres in the North Midlands. No damage to factories or works of military importance occurred, but a number of small houses and cottages were wrecked or damaged, and thirty-six persons were killed and twenty-seven injured.
