Irish error

Sir: In the immortal words of John Philpot Curran "Reason swings from her moorings"! My letter published by you (January 17) stated that the IRA's declaration that they will give up sectarian murders, if the Protestant paramilitary organisations would do the same, was just a clever bit Of propaganda, was turned by your printers into Protestant "parliamentary" organisations! Have your printers been affected by the Irish situation, and would you please correct this error? Incidentally, my urging the closing of the border, as a way out of the impasse, might well mean that only four counties would be retained by the Ulster Protestants, and that Londonderry would also be ceded to the Republic. On the other hand, the Catholics of Belfast would have to go south, with, again, proper compensation. And the weeping and the wailing would be terrible, and poor soft English hearts would bleed.
