A Life of John Viriamu Jones has been written by
his wife, Mrs. Viriamu Jones (Smith, Elder, and Co., 10s. 6d. net). Viriamu Jones will be remembered as the first Principal of the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, and his early death in 1901 at the age of forty-five was universally regarded as a great loss to the cause of Welsh education. In the present memoir will be found a sketch of the progress of the College during the period in which he was its Principal, and also an account of the circumstances that led to the formation of the University of Wales.
