this week, the Americans now have the bomb-and-delivery capacity to kill everybody in every city in the world 125 times over. I take this seriously, but there is no doubt that this kind of figure prevents us from thinking rationally about war. It almost prevents us from thinking at all. I mean, everybody objects to being killed, once. But when it comes round to the 125th time, aw, who cares....
