THE "SPECTATOR.") Srn,—As I know you like a good quotation I give you the following from Iludibras, Part IL, Canto IL It applies rather
aptly to the views held by some noble lords upon the conduct of the Unionist leaders in bringing forward a drastic scheme of reform :— "Did they not swear, in express words To prop and back the House of Lords; And after turn'd out the whole houseful Of Peers, as dang'rous and unuseful ? "
