Wiltshire is a volume in the very useful series of
"Little Guides' (Methuen and Co., 2s. 6d. and 3s. 6d.), with its convenient alpha- betical arrangement. We may note that Ashby (near Allerton) is scarcely a Norman church ; the north and chancel arch are Norman (very early), but the pillars which divide the nave from the south transept are Early English Church, and the north windows are a modern imitation of this style.
