Rather casually

Sir: Bookend in your issue of February 24 says that we offered Richard Webb a directorship after he rather casually mentioned an offer of a job from Collins. I'd like to correct this. Richard mentioned no job offer to anybody in this firm at any time. And his directorship was agreed by the Board last autumn. The ultimate naiveté in this misinformed piece is the idea that anybody can talk "rather casually" about an offer from a firm as good as Collins.
