Sir: Of course I do not oppose the right Qf journalists to express their own views in chronicles. Facts, however, ought to be' correct. In the Spectator of 4 FebruarY Richard West has presented some views upon Swedish immigration policy in an article entitled 'The threat to Finlany''' Apparently he has not bothered to malt! critical evaluation of facts presented to him der- as there are some clear'misun standings'.
He charges that Sino-Vietnamese
in Swedish schools are taught Vietnaine4 instead of the Chinese mother-tongue. U course wthat is not true. As we have a free labour market in the, Northern countries, a great number 0' Finns have moved to Sweden to find jobs' This is true, indeed. i.nd The view of the Finns — both in Fin.- 1,4 and in Sweden — is that the school shout' teach the immigrants in Sweden their d..a language. In Sweden there are today sr"of 400,000 Finns, who of course have Parts a their training in Finnish in school. P'5,, matter of fact the actual discusswt's concerns the urge of Finnish inunigninw that their children should have the rightI be taught in Finnish all through the schalo system — i.e. not only Finnish, nut by hFainvneismh-osspteaokfinthgetireaecdhuecrsa.tion Pwvideu Anita Gradin Cabinet Minister for Migration Affairs, Ministry of Labour, Stockholm
