Maestro of the buttonhole

From Mr Paul Johnson Sir: A misprint in my column last week has Balenciaga saying that Dior had never seen a buttonhole. The word was sewn, the point being that Balenciaga could sew a buttonhole, the true test of the art of sewing, more neatly and expeditiously than anyone else in the rag trade.
