Money, a Popular Exposition. By T. Binney. (Jackson, Watford, and Hodder.)—Let the public beware of what little boys call "a sell." Any one who takes up this book under the notion that he is going to read an answer to little Dombey's question, and an exposition of all that Mr. Dombey had in his heart, and finds himself with a volume of sermons in his hand, is tempted to swear, and we put it to Mr. Binney whether he ought to tempt the unregenerate public. If he had put "the Rev." before his name it would have been better, but the title itself is a mis- take. Of the sermons themselves we are bound to speak favourably, The subject is treated from a common-sense point of view, and instead of the diatribe against money which one so often hears, the love of money is temperately rebuked and its evil effects on the character analyzed. Money in itself is neither good nor bad, but is by turns either, as use makes it.
